Over the past few years
Q-West has produced some interesting vessels from a variety of
different Designers. Craft ranging from commercial ferries to high end
pleasure vessels. This fact in itself maybe of little interest, but
what is interesting is the new technology that is being developed,
employed and tested.
MV Ten Sixty
(AKA Seascan) is the first craft to be fitted with the new systems. The
16.6 metre long vessel is fitted with an adjustable foil, Hamilton Jets
new Blue Arrow control system and is capable of 45 knots. The boat is
mill finish (no paint above the waterline) and has more round corners
than a tennis ball.
As
a comment on the workmanship and over all professionalism of Q-West
Boat Builders, the Owner of Ten Sixty commissioned Q-West to construct Clipper I and Clipper II
