Kororā is the first of the two next generation fast ferries Q-West are contracted by Fullers Group to build.
Outwardly, this new vessel appears to be of very similar design to Te Kotuku, but her facilities are a major step up in two respects, she incorporates a fully covered upper outer deck and a new top open observation deck.
This catamaran could certainly be the way of the future – especially for ports such as Auckland which have a long transit to the pilot boarding ground.

Q-West delivers foil assisted passenger vessel to SeaLink.
Q-West Boat Builders has teamed up with Teknicraft to complete a fifth foil assisted passenger vessel for SeaLink NZ. Operating in Pine Harbour just outside of Central Auckland.

‘Wakatere’ is the first foil assisted catamaran pilot boat in Australia or New Zealand. The origins of the design and build process came from the pilots in Ports of Auckland seeing and admiring Q-West’s Clipper-class vessels operating daily in varied weather conditions.
